Welcome to gfxcontests.com!

The new admins here are swiftest and babble. Our thanks to the previous admin, NLK, for maintaining a great site.

We have plans to make this site easier and more rewarding to use for clients and designers. Please stay tuned as we migrate to a new software platform specially developed to automate contests. Migration will happen in stages with important changes happening first and additional features to be added to automate more of the process. More info to follow in the coming week.

I know you have these "plans" but you should know that your inactivity on this forum has in fact made it more difficult and unrewarding to the clients and designers. More important than a facelift are your administration duties. Congratulations on practically destroying the site, you two.

As I mentioned in the designer forum thread, I had to deal with a family issue recently. It also takes time to get up to speed with a new site while simultaneously developing the upgraded site. I've solved a few issues with Paypal that were hampering new clients, and think I have things under control at this point. I'm also considering adding new moderators to help out while we transition this site.

At any rate, please send me any unresolved issues my way and I'll be sure to look into it right away. I do appreciate your voicing these concerns, but I would have appreciated a private message to give me a chance to fix anything first.

Uh... hate the new site... I've run 10-12 contests here but I came here now to do another one and I'm thinking perhaps I'll try elsewhere. Whats up with the $20 per contest now too, and the ugly design. If it wasn't broken, why did you try to fix it?

The software has been custom developed to run contests. The previous incarnation on vbulletin just wasn't cutting it. The new version needs some polish, so we're going to have a "design the new gfxcontests.com contest" soon to fix up appearances here.

The important thing is that contests are more automated and will help clients keep track of designs and feedback; and because of the escrow service, designers have the added protection that the clients will follow through on the contest. The $20 fee is lower than any competitor site and is our cost for handling the escrow, hosting, etc. It's a small fraction of the prize money for contests, so clients who balk at that small fee aren't our target audience.

I am going to file a lawsuit against your company if you do not block this page on your website. We have attempted on many occasions to contact you without a response.
