Hi -
Here's a final revision for you: the home graphic
I'd eliminated originally but decided to add it in this
one, since it seems to complete the concept pretty well.

Let me know what you think & thanks,
El

P.S. -
Since this is a logo and not a business card contest,
I wouldn't be comfortable submitting both...

Hi Toni - Thanks for the revisions! This is a really eye-catching, strong logo. I'm very happy with the graphic. I'm still not sure about the text, though. Could you try a version with a solid font or a non-shadowed one, at least? I want to use the logo on shirts, hats, business cards, etc, so it needs to be really readable even in small versions. I really like this graphic, though! Thanks!

Hi El - I do like the house in the graphic - it does work well with the concept. And while I understand that this is a logo contest rather than specifically a business card contest, I plan to use the logo for all my company's branding products - shirts, hats, letterhead, website, signs, and business cards. Thus my concern about how the graphic may look in different sizes or in a business card format is I think a valid one. Am I confused about being able to use the same design for everything?

Hello gurljinxed - thanks for the revision. I like the larger text on the second line. I'll let you know if I need to see other versions in a day or so after I sit on it. Thanks!

Hi -
Submitted an entry so you can see how it'd look
w/ the graphic to one side...

When you receive an .ai [or .eps] file, even if you don't
have Illustrator, any professional printer will, so they
can make any necessary adjustments to the file before
printing - since the artwork is vector, it can be re-sized
without any degradation of quality. ;)

Thanks,
El

This is just a basic set, but will give you a feel of what the logo would look like on stationary.

El - Thanks for the information on the vector file - that does help. It also helps to see what the graphic looks like on the side. Really appreciate your help!

Gurljinxed - Thanks so much for showing me what it would like on the stationery and clothing! We really like the new submission withe the house shape! Can you make the green a little darker, in both the background and the text line? I think it would be more visible against a white backgound if the colors were a little deeper. Thank you so much for all your help!

To everyone who has or is planning to submit logos, thank you all for your patience and help -- we know nothing about the graphic design process, and you have all been so helpful about educating us.

thanks!

Wow... lots of changes to consider! Definitely like the darker colors - much easier to see on a white background. I think I like the leaves on the house rather than the hammer, but honestly, I'm too tired right now to really think straight! Just wanted to say thanks for revisions.

Hi Toni -

Thanks for the revision. It's not heading in the direction I"m looking for, though. I liked the text placed below the graphic, like you did before, I just want to see the text in a solid, not out-lined format. Look at entry #5 for an example, or at the newest entry. I also noticed that in your original submission, the arrows were outlined in black. Can you go back to that? It really made the graphic pop. Thanks so much! Jan

Hi gurljinxed - sorry for the delay in feedback. This week has been crazy. In general, I like the changes. Two things I would like to see different - the nailpuller end of the hammer is now touching the house, and it makes it look a little odd. Can you shift the hammer up so it doesn't touch the house? And I would like to see the graphic without the two bushes - I think it looked cleaner without them. Love the color changes, however! thanks!

Thanks for the submission. It is a nice, clean design, but it is a little "phallic" in appearance.

Hello The Webb -- I REALLY like this concept! It is original, eye-catching, and definitely captures the "have tools will travel" concept. The only concern I have is the tool graphics on the suitcase -- I'm not sure you can see what they are when the graphic is the size it would be on a business card or a letterhead. I want to use the same logo for all my company products. Is there a way to make them more visible? Thanks for your submission -- love it!

Hi Saksham - thanks for the submissions. As I indicated in my first comments on your graphic, it's too Miami "skyscraperish" for us. We live in the mountains and deal with log cabin-style homes.

Thanks for the feedback; I agree that the tools seam to disappear a little on the smaller size. I can modify the colors of the stickers or add some larger tools/construction elements behind the suitcase. Do you have any ideas on colors or specific tools you would like to see highlighted?

I'm not really sure what would work best. I love the look of the travel stickers on the old suitcase, so I don't want to lose that. I also like the specific stickers you have on there - love the truck, the circular saw, and the drills on the end of the suitcase. Is it possible to just enlarge the graphic so that the stickers don't get so lost? Or have the suitcase be one color and the stickers be a different one? I don't want to add elements behind the suitcase, because it's really simple and clean the way it is and I don't want to lose that. As far as colors go, is it possible to have a red suitcase? All our trucks and trailers are red.

Not being a graphic artist, I'm really not sure what would give the best result. Can you give me a couple of other versions of it so I can see what the options are? Thanks! Jan

Again thank you for the feedback it is always nice to have input during the design process. I have change the color to red to match you’re the trucks that your company has. I have also increased the size of 5 of the sticker logos as well as changed the text on 2 of the stickers. I can still make changes before the contest deadline to better match the needs of your company. I look forward to your reply and further feedback.

Thanks so much for your revisions. I really like the red, and the stickers do stand out better. A couple of things I would like to try -- can you make the house in the small round sticker on the end of the suitcase white? It gets lost with the red-on-red scheme. And this one may be harder - in the arrows in the recycling logo, can you have the text "Re-build, Re-use, Recyle" ? We are a green company and we try to salvage buildings and materials wherever possible. Along that line, could you add a tag line under the company name that says "Sustainable Building -- Repairs -- Remodels"? Thanks again! Jan
