Contest extended by 1 week on 2012-01-19 22:10:01
Binary Helix Deadline: Thu Jan 26, 2012 Prize Amount: $150
Looking for a cool logo for our game company, Binary Helix.
About Binary Helix
Binary Helix is a new indie game studio which is producing the game "Dangerous".
Read the briefSubmit Entry
The logo should read "Binary Helix". It should be high-tech with a helix symbol somehow incorporated into the logo. Bonus if binary is also somehow represented symbolically.
Looking For
Cool logo for Binary Helix that consists primarily of the words "Binary" and "Helix" and also some graphic element that connotes one or both words. For example, a helix structure should be a part of the logo. It should be hi-tech looking and appropriate for use by a game studio (which we are).
Not Looking For
Not looking for standard font or an image that doesn't have some symbol that represents helix or binary. Not looking for old world flowery logo.

Black and white versions of the same logo. I welcome comments/feedback/suggestions. |

Thanks for your entry. I like the sci-fi look of the logo. Could you integrate the helix into the logo better? I'd like it connected more to the text or actually be made a part of the text itself somehow. |

I like the clever way you did the Y and the X. Only problem is the column of O's isn't helical. Nice use of the binary numbers inside the logo.
When the logo is viewed as a small thumbnail, you can see some "shadows" in the lettering itself. One idea is perhaps you could make this shadow look somewhat helical? Kind of like another hidden beauty of the logo is that it has this added dimension at smaller scales, etc.
Overall, an excellent effort. |

Not crazy about how the helix was done here.. It's a bit strong (almost looks like a spider web) and too detached from the logo itself, as if it were competing for your attention. |

Hi, very nice and polished. My main concern is that the helix inside the circle could be mistaken for an infinity symbol or the letter X or number 8. If you could make it more helical, that'd be ideal. |

Thanks for this submission. It's creative how you integrated the "y" and the "x" into the helix. Unfortunately, the helix looks more like a couple of intertwined rings and the font could use a little something extra. |

Thanks for your submission. It has potential, but the font for the "Helix" is somewhat bland. Also, the double helix graphic is interesting, but could use something more. (For example, it's not clear why the top part doesn't form part of the word like the bottom does, so some differentiation would be useful.) |

OK, it's time to close this contest. This version works best for our needs. I like how the "Binary Helix" text is stylized and can be used by itself. And the circular icon is simple yet distinctive, and can also be used by itself. I'll contact you via PM. Thanks! |
